HOW C-HACK WORKS
Learn how to transform Chem E problems into Python code and solve real world problems in teams!
SIGNING UP

No coding experience is expected or required
-
All you need is a device that connects to internet - see setting up

Registration is 100% free
-
Registration deadline is Friday December 3rd at 11.59 pm

Registration is open to all UW and OSU undergraduates in Chem E. UW ENGRUD students interested in ChemE and other pre-major or transfer students will also be considered and are welcome to register

A final confirmation of your registration will be sent to your right after the deadline

After the deadline you will be contacted to specify your team / request a team (no need to be part of a team to register)

Maximum number of students per team is 4

Once you submit your final team problem you will be able to pick up your free C-HACK t-shirt and mug!

Every participant who submits a final project will receive a C-HACK certificate
PYTHON TUTORIAL

Tutorials will introduce you to Python
-
No coding background or experience is needed or expected!

Attendance is not a requirement to get the certificate

Tutorials will be registered

Office hours will occur throughout the week to help you & answer questions
The first week of the hackathon will consist in a series of tutorials - see the tutorials page for more detail
START OF HACKTHON
Get ready for some teamwork problem solving!

Problem to be solved using Python to be revealed via zoom on 01/09 and posted here

An open session for questions is held on the same day

Together with your team think of a solution for the problem

Transform your idea into code in a Jupyter notebook (make sure to comment it properly!)

Submit your code by the deadline
FINAL PRESENTATION, AWARDS & CERTIFICATES
Present with your team & advertise your work on the website!

After you submit your code, work on your final presentation and present it at the dry run
-
Present with your team at the Final Presentation
-
Show your team work on the C-HACK webpage
-
Everyone will get a C-HACK Certificate
-
Top 3 teams will get a prize and be awarded a certificate (see the judging committee)
